Interview with István Markó

By Breitbart – Re-Blogged From http://www.WattsUpWithThat.com

István Markó (1956 – 2017) was a professor and researcher in organic chemistry at the Université catholique de Louvain. Prof. Dr. Marko was an outspoken defender of the skeptical view on the issue of human-caused/anthropogenic global warming, appearing in numerous French-language media on the Internet, in public debates and diverse English-language blog postings. He also joined with Anglo-Saxon climate skeptics, publishing several articles together on Breitbart News.

Grégoire Canlorbe: Climate activism is thought of as Marxism’s Trojan horse, a way for its followers to proceed with their face masked, in the never-ending holy war that Marxism claims will be necessary to establish communist totalitarianism. Yet it was actually Margaret Thatcher, the muse of conservative libertarianism, who kick-started the IPCC. How do you make sense of this?

István Markó: More precisely, Margaret Thatcher, although a trained chemist and therefore aware of the mendacious character of such an allegation about carbon dioxide (CO2), was the first proponent to use the excuse of climate implications posed by CO2 to achieve her political ends. At the time, that is, in the mid-1980s, Thatcher was waging war with the almighty coal union. In those days, the UK coal unions were remunerating themselves with public monies and by lobbying via the Labour Party had managed to pass an enormous number of laws and subsidies to keep an industry afloat that was no longer profitable on its own.

Use and Abuse of History

By Reva Goujon – Re-Blogged From https://worldview.stratfor.com

A lot of history is being casually tossed around these days. We see it from energized segments of the “alt-right” throwing up Nazi salutes, calling for a “revolution” against “the Bolsheviks” and marching to chants like “Jews will not replace us.” We see it from their anti-fascist adversaries on the left, branding themselves antifa, a movement that draws its roots from the Antifaschistische Aktion resistance from 1930s Germany. We see it from world leaders when Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan brazenly calls his German and Dutch counterparts Nazis and fascists and when U.S. President Donald Trump ardently defends Confederate statues as symbols of “heritage not hate.” We see it from jihadist groups like the Islamic State when a member of the Barcelona attack cell calling himself Abu Lais of Cordoba spookily reminds Spanish Christians to remember “the Muslim blood spilled” during the Spanish Inquisition as the group fights to reincorporate “Al Andalus” into a revived caliphate.

Martel, Patton, and Burnside… Warriors Three

By Larry Usoff- Re-Blogged From iPatriot

Martel, Patton and Burnside…warriors three:

Charles Martel, born around 686, and died in 741 was a Frankish statesman and military leader who as Duke and Prince of the Franks and Mayor of the Palace, was de facto ruler of Francia from 718 until his death.  Building on his father’s work, he restored centralized government in Francia and began a series of military campaigns that re-established the Franks as the undisputed masters of all Gaul.   After he established a unity in Gaul, his attention was called to foreign conflicts, and dealing with the Islamic advance into Western Europe was a foremost concern.

Arab and Berber Islamic forces had conquered Spain, crossed the Pyrenees, seized a major dependency of the Visigoths, and after intermittent challenges, under the Arab Governor of al-Andalus Abdul Rahman Al Ghafiqi, advanced toward Gaul and on Tours, “the holy town of Gaul”; in October 732, the army of the Umayyad Caliphate led by Al Ghafiqi met Frankish and Burgundian forces under Charles Martel in an area between the cities of Tours and Poitiers, leading to a decisive, historically important Frankish victory known as the Battle of Tours, ending the “last of the great Arab invasions of France,” a military victory termed “brilliant” on the part of Martel.

The Forces Driving Democratic Recession

By Jay Ogilvy – Re-Blogged From Stratfor

Liberal democracy is in retreat across the globe. Following decades of expansion since the 1950s, the spread of democracy hit a wall in the new millennium. Freedom House, using carefully crafted metrics, has measured a decline in democracy and freedom worldwide. Definitions are important: Does the fact of elections, even where the outcome is autocratically determined, qualify a country as a democracy? By most measures and definitions, there are now about 25 fewer democratic countries than there were at the turn of the millennium.

Founding co-editor of the Journal of Democracy Larry Diamond wrote a 2015 paper, “Facing up to the Democratic Recession.” Diamond asks, reasonably enough, “Why have freedom and democracy been regressing in many countries? The most important and pervasive answer is, in brief, bad governance.” But this tells us very little. How and why has governance been so bad?

Is American Foreign Policy The Key To Economic Growth?

Guest Post By Helen Robinson From Best Vacuum for Stairs

It is evident that American foreign policy has been and still is a major influence on economic growth. The US has been trying to maintain good relationships with other countries. In fact, the policy states that the US will try to maintain peace with other countries provided they have mutual interest. However, there are some conflicts, such as the war in the Middle East and North Korea testing missiles, that have drawn the USA into conflicts. The USA also has tried to solve most of these conflicts in an amicable way without escalating the conflicts. The US has even been sending troops to these areas with conflicts to try and deal with the conflicts.

Why All Muslims Benefit from Terrorism

[This video is controversial, to say the least. -Bob]

By David Wood  – Re-Blogged From Freedom Outpost

While many Muslims are just as horrified by terrorism as the rest of us are, all Muslims nevertheless benefit from Islam. This is because both peaceful and violent Muslims tend to share two important goals: (1) the conversion of non-Muslims to Islam, and (2) the silencing of critics of Islam. Since terrorism helps achieve these goals, all Muslims benefit from Islam.

Is a Religious War in Europe Imminent?

From Vigileaks – Re-Blogged From http://www.iPatriot.com

Over the weekend, several people in France were taken into custody because of involvement in planned terrorist attacks in Paris. The intelligence communities in Europe, Israel and in the United States received tremendous amounts of warnings regarding imminent threats on cities in western Europe that are targets before the Christmas season, during the Christmas season, and right into the New Year!

We aren’t just talking about an isolated terror attack, we’re talking about the injection of millions of new Muslims in Europe. We’re talking about a religious war in Europe right now. The State Dept. just issued a warning either not to go to those places or to exercise extreme caution! This impending Religious War is ignored by mainstream media! Now is the time to forewarn friends, family, armed forces personnel, embassy workers, educators and contacts in Europe!
